endoderm
Innermost germ layer
Endoderm is the innermost of the three primary cell layers in an early embryo, the others being mesoderm and ectoderm.
The endoderm develops into the digestive tract, respiratory system, and associated organs like the liver and pancreas.
Also spelled entoderm.
