encephalogram
Neural activity readout
An encephalogram is a record of brain activity, typically produced by an electroencephalograph (EEG).
Electrodes placed on the scalp detect electrical signals, which are recorded as wave patterns.
Doctors use encephalograms to diagnose seizure disorders, sleep problems, and other neurological conditions: The encephalogram showed abnormal activity in the temporal lobe.
