electro
Synthesizer-driven club music
Electro is a style of electronic dance music that emerged in the early 1980s, characterized by drum machines, synthesizers, and robotic vocals.
The term later broadened to describe various electronic music genres: electro house, electro pop.
As a prefix, electro- attaches to words to indicate electrical involvement: electroshock, electromagnetism.
Standing alone, electro usually means the music genre: The DJ played electro all night.
