dysplastic
Cells growing wrong
Dysplastic describes tissue or cells that show abnormal development or growth.
In medicine, dysplastic changes often appear in biopsies and may indicate precancerous conditions: The pathologist noted dysplastic cells in the tissue sample.
Dysplastic features can also describe developmental abnormalities in bones or organs: dysplastic hips in newborns.
