aplasia

Organ never developed

Aplasia is the failure of an organ or tissue to develop normally or to develop at all.

The term appears in medical contexts describing congenital absence or defective development: aplasia of the thymus, bone marrow aplasia.

Aplastic anemia, the most common use, refers to the bone marrow's failure to produce blood cells.
