Undoing a choice
Deselection is the act of removing something from a selected state, or of choosing not to select it.
In computing, you deselect items by clicking elsewhere or using a keyboard shortcut.
In British politics, deselection refers to a local party organization refusing to reselect an incumbent as their candidate: The MP faced deselection after voting against the party leadership.
