deselecting
Clicking off something
Deselecting is removing a selection or choosing not to include something previously chosen.
In computing, you deselect by clicking an already-highlighted item to unhighlight it: I accidentally deselected all my files.
In British politics, a constituency party deselects a sitting MP by refusing to renominate them as candidate.
