deburr

Eliminate metal edges

To deburr is to remove burrs—the rough edges, ridges, or small protrusions left on metal or plastic after cutting, drilling, or machining.

The process creates smooth, finished surfaces safe to handle and ready for assembly: After drilling the holes, we deburred them with a countersink bit.
