Director's first look
Dailies are the raw, unedited footage shot during a day of film or television production, reviewed by the director and crew to assess performances and technical quality before moving forward.
Also called rushes.
In newspaper publishing, dailies are papers that publish every day, as opposed to weeklies: The story ran in all the major dailies.
