rushes

Moves with haste

Rushes are the unedited footage from a film shoot, reviewed daily by the director and crew to assess what was captured.

The term comes from the rush to develop and print film overnight for next-day viewing.

Also called dailies.

Separately, rushes is the plural of rush—grasslike wetland plants, or instances of rushing: the morning rushes of commuters.
