The Hollywood Sign is the large white letters spelling "HOLLYWOOD" on Mount Lee in the Santa Monica Mountains, visible across Los Angeles.
Originally erected in 1923 as "HOLLYWOODLAND" to advertise a real estate development, it became a symbol of the American film industry and of celebrity dreams: She moved to L.A. chasing the Hollywood Sign.
