Afghan hounds

Silky racing dogs

Afghan hounds are a breed of tall, slender sighthounds distinguished by their long, flowing coats and aristocratic bearing.

Originally bred for hunting in the mountains of Afghanistan, they are now kept primarily as show dogs and companions.

The breed is known for being aloof, independent, and not particularly eager to please: Afghan hounds are beautiful but notoriously difficult to train.
