contexts
Frames of reference
Contexts are the circumstances or settings that surround something and help determine its meaning.
A word changes sense depending on context; a decision makes sense only in context.
The phrase in context means considering the surrounding situation, while out of context suggests something has been stripped of the information needed to interpret it fairly: That quote was taken out of context.
