columbaria
Ash storage walls
Columbaria is the plural of columbarium—a structure with niches for storing urns containing cremated remains.
The word comes from the Latin for dovecote, which such structures resemble with their rows of small compartments.
Modern columbaria are found in cemeteries, churches, and memorial gardens: The columbaria were nearly full, with only a few niches remaining.
