aviary
Zoo flight cage
An aviary is a large enclosure for keeping birds, typically allowing them space to fly.
Unlike cages, aviaries are sized for the birds rather than for convenient display: The zoo's tropical aviary houses dozens of species.
The word shares its root with aviation—both derive from the Latin for bird.
