co-sign
Back someone's loan
Co-sign has a literal and a figurative sense.
To co-sign a loan is to add your signature alongside the borrower's, making yourself legally responsible if they default: My father co-signed my first car loan.
In slang, to co-sign something is to endorse or vouch for it: I can't co-sign that decision.
