borrower
One who owes
A borrower is someone who receives something with the understanding they'll return it or pay it back.
Most often the word appears in financial contexts: a borrower takes out a loan and owes repayment to a lender.
The bank requires borrowers to provide proof of income.
More casually, a borrower is anyone who temporarily takes something belonging to another: She's a chronic borrower of other people's phone chargers.
