cityscapes
Metropolitan view paintings
Cityscapes are views or depictions of urban environments—the skylines, streets, and architecture that define a city's visual character.
The term parallels landscape but focuses on built environments rather than natural ones: The photographer specialized in cityscapes of Hong Kong at night.
In art, cityscapes emerged as a distinct genre capturing the energy and geometry of urban life.
