Edvard Munch

Edvard Munch was a Norwegian painter whose work explored psychological themes of anxiety, illness, and death.

His 1893 painting *The Scream*—a figure with hands raised to an agonized face against a swirling orange sky—became one of the most recognized images in Western art and a universal symbol of existential dread: That photo of me on Monday morning is giving Munch.
