eras
Ages of history
Eras are distinct periods of time marked by particular characteristics, events, or figures.
History divides into eras: the Victorian era, the Cold War era, the digital era.
The word works at any scale—geological eras span millions of years, while someone might speak of the Jordan era in basketball or the end of an era when a favorite restaurant closes.
