chisels

Sculptor's cutting tools

Chisels are hand tools with a sharpened metal blade used for cutting or shaping wood, stone, or metal.

The blade is driven by striking the handle with a mallet or by hand pressure.

To chisel is to cut with such a tool, or figuratively, to cheat or swindle someone: He chiseled me out of fifty bucks.

A chiseled face or body has sharply defined features, as if carved from stone.
