catechize
Drill on doctrine
To catechize is to instruct through a series of questions and answers, originally in religious doctrine.
A catechism is the text used for such instruction, presenting beliefs in Q&A format: The priest catechized the children before their confirmation.
More broadly, to catechize someone is to question them closely or systematically, sometimes with implications of drilling or indoctrination.
