answer
What resolves inquiry
Whether as noun or verb, answer is about the response to a question: I only got three answers right on the quiz. Why didn’t you answer me?
An answer can also be an act that communicates something without words, or the action of doing this: His answer was to turn around and walk away.
Similarly, when you answer the phone, you pick it up and offer a greeting in response to its ringing.
When a prayer is answered, the thing asked for happens.
If you answer for something or someone, you take responsibility: You will have to answer for this at the trial.
