Circular fairground attractions
Carousels are rotating platforms, most commonly the amusement park ride with decorated horses and other animals that move up and down as the platform spins.
The term extends to any rotating mechanism: a luggage carousel at an airport, a slide carousel for a projector.
In digital interfaces, a carousel is a display element that cycles through images or content: Swipe through the carousel to see more photos.
