Coney Island

Seaside amusement peninsula

Coney Island is a neighborhood and beach area at the southern tip of Brooklyn, New York, famous for its boardwalk, amusement parks, and seaside attractions.

Once America's largest amusement area, it retains iconic status despite decades of decline: We rode the Cyclone at Coney Island.

A coney island is also an old name for a hot dog, from the Nathan's Famous stand that opened there in 1916.
