bottomlands
Fertile valley floors
Bottomlands are low-lying areas along rivers and streams, typically featuring rich, fertile soil deposited by flooding.
The term is most common in American English, especially in the South and Midwest: The farm's bottomlands produced the best corn.
Also called bottoms: down in the river bottoms.
