biryanis

Layered rice dishes

Biryanis is the plural of biryani, a South Asian rice dish in which meat, fish, or vegetables are layered with spiced rice and slow-cooked.

The dish originated in the Indian subcontinent and varies considerably by region—Hyderabadi, Lucknowi, and Kolkata versions each have devoted followings.

We ordered three different biryanis to share at the table.
