garam masala

Warm spice blend

Garam masala is a blend of ground spices used extensively in South Asian cooking, particularly in Indian cuisine.

The name comes from Hindi words meaning "hot spices," though the heat refers to the warming quality of the spices rather than capsicum burn.

Common ingredients include cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, cumin, and coriander, though proportions vary by region and cook.

I added garam masala at the end to brighten the curry.
