barrel rolls
Twisting flight maneuvers
A barrel roll is an aerial maneuver in which an aircraft rotates 360 degrees around its longitudinal axis while following a helical path, completing one full roll while maintaining forward momentum.
Pilots and stunt flyers perform barrel rolls as acrobatic displays.
In video games, especially after the Star Fox series, Do a barrel roll! became a meme for any evasive spinning maneuver—or ironic advice in situations where spinning won't help.
