wingover
Plane flips direction
A wingover is an aerobatic maneuver in which an aircraft climbs steeply, banks sharply at the top, and descends in the opposite direction—tracing a path that resembles a wing pivoting on its tip.
The maneuver reverses the plane's heading while maintaining controlled flight: The pilot executed a smooth wingover and headed back toward the airfield.
