reintegration
Return to wholeness
Reintegration is the process of bringing someone or something back into a whole from which they were separated.
The word appears most often in contexts involving people who have been away from mainstream society—prisoners returning to civilian life, soldiers coming home from deployment, or refugees resettling in their homeland.
The program focuses on the reintegration of former gang members into their communities.
The emphasis is on rejoining and becoming a functioning part of the group again, not merely returning to it.
