armor-bearer
Warrior's equipment attendant
An armor-bearer was a military attendant who carried weapons and equipment for a warrior, typically a king or commander.
The term appears most often in biblical contexts, where armor-bearers served as close aides in battle: Saul fell on his sword, and his armor-bearer did likewise.
The role combined servant, bodyguard, and squire.
