antielectron

Positive charged lepton

Antielectron is a technical term for positron—the antimatter counterpart of an electron.

It has the same mass as an electron but carries a positive charge instead of negative.

When an electron and antielectron meet, they annihilate each other, converting their mass to energy.

Positron is more common in scientific usage.
