antiatom
Positron-antiproton bound system
An antiatom is an atom composed entirely of antiparticles—an antiproton nucleus orbited by a positron instead of the ordinary proton-electron arrangement.
When an antiatom encounters normal matter, both are annihilated in a burst of energy.
Scientists have produced antihydrogen atoms in particle accelerators to study whether antimatter behaves differently from matter under the laws of physics.
