aerofoils

Curved flight components

Aerofoils is the British spelling of airfoils—surfaces shaped to produce lift or control when air moves across them.

Wings, propeller blades, and tail fins are aerofoils.

The curved upper surface and flatter lower surface create pressure differences that generate lift: The engineer tested various aerofoil designs in the wind tunnel.
