Tyvek

Synthetic construction wrap

Tyvek is a brand name for a synthetic material made of high-density polyethylene fibers, known for being lightweight, tear-resistant, and water-resistant while allowing vapor to pass through.

It's most commonly seen as the white sheeting wrapped around buildings under construction: The house was covered in Tyvek before the siding went up.

Tyvek also appears in mailing envelopes, protective clothing, and wristbands.
