Toonami
Cartoon Network programming
Toonami is a programming block on Cartoon Network (later Adult Swim) dedicated to action-oriented animation, particularly anime.
Launched in 1997, it introduced American audiences to series like *Dragon Ball Z*, *Sailor Moon*, and *Naruto*.
The block is hosted by an AI character named TOM and became synonymous with after-school and late-night anime viewing for a generation: I grew up watching Toonami every afternoon.
