Tolkienites
Middle-earth obsessive readers
Tolkienites are devoted fans of J.R.R.
Tolkien's literary works, particularly *The Lord of the Rings* and *The Silmarillion*.
The term suggests serious engagement with Tolkien's fictional universe—its languages, mythology, and lore—rather than casual enjoyment: The Tolkienites debated whether the films honored the source material.
Sometimes used dismissively by those who find such devotion excessive.
