Tempranillo

Iberian red varietal

Tempranillo is a red grape variety native to Spain, the dominant grape in Rioja and Ribera del Duero wines.

The name comes from Spanish *temprano* (early), referring to its early ripening.

Tempranillo produces medium-bodied wines with flavors of cherry, leather, and tobacco, often aged in oak: a smooth Tempranillo with hints of vanilla.
