Tabernacles

Autumn booth celebration

Tabernacles is the Jewish harvest festival also called Sukkot, commemorating the Israelites' wandering in the wilderness after the Exodus.

During the week-long observance, families build and eat meals in temporary shelters called sukkot (singular: sukkah), recalling the booths their ancestors inhabited.

We're building a sukkah for Tabernacles this year.
