Snake River

Hells Canyon carver

The Snake River is a major waterway in the northwestern United States, flowing roughly 1,000 miles from Wyoming through Idaho and into Washington, where it joins the Columbia River.

It carved Hells Canyon, North America's deepest river gorge, and provides irrigation for Idaho's agricultural regions: The Snake River Plain produces most of the nation's potatoes.
