Yellowstone River
Undammed American waterway
The Yellowstone River is the principal tributary of the upper Missouri River, flowing roughly 670 miles from its source in the mountains of northwestern Wyoming through Montana to its confluence with the Missouri in North Dakota.
It passes through Yellowstone National Park, where it carves the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.
The river remains one of the longest undammed rivers in the contiguous United States.
