Sinbad

Seven-voyage sailor

Sinbad is the sailor hero of Arabic folktales collected in *One Thousand and One Nights*, famous for seven voyages filled with giant birds, sea monsters, and magical islands.

The name evokes swashbuckling adventure and exotic danger: He fancied himself a Sinbad, ready to brave unknown waters.

Sinbad is also the stage name of American comedian David Adkins.
