Pop-Tarts

Frosted breakfast rectangles

Pop-Tarts is a brand of toaster pastry—flat rectangular shells of sweet dough with flavored filling, often frosted.

Introduced by Kellogg's in 1964, they became an American breakfast staple and cultural icon.

The name plays on Pop Art.

Though properly a trademark, the term is sometimes used generically for similar products: I grabbed a Pop-Tart on my way out.
