steel-cut oats
Chopped whole grains
Steel-cut oats are whole oat grains chopped into pieces with steel blades rather than rolled flat.
They have a chewy texture and nutty flavor, taking longer to cook than rolled oats: Steel-cut oats need about twenty minutes on the stove.
Also called Irish oats or pinhead oats.
