Piraeus

Greek port city

Piraeus is the principal port of Athens and one of the largest in the Mediterranean, serving as Greece's main gateway for maritime commerce and passenger ferries to the Greek islands.

Located about six miles southwest of central Athens, it has functioned as the city's harbor since antiquity: The ferry to Mykonos departs from Piraeus.
