Paris Opera
Garnier's grand venue
The Paris Opera is France's premier opera company, officially the Opéra national de Paris.
The name also refers to its historic venues—the ornate Palais Garnier (1875) and the modern Opéra Bastille (1989).
We saw Carmen at the Paris Opera.
The institution has shaped operatic tradition since its founding in the 17th century.
