Bayreuth Festival
Composer's opera showcase
The Bayreuth Festival is an annual summer music festival held in Bayreuth, Germany, dedicated exclusively to the operas of Richard Wagner.
Founded by Wagner himself in 1876, it takes place in the Festspielhaus, a theater he designed specifically for his works.
The festival remains closely associated with the Wagner family and is renowned for innovative stagings of the Ring cycle and other Wagner operas.
Tickets are notoriously difficult to obtain, with waiting lists stretching years.
