music hall
Vaudeville performance venue
Music hall is a type of variety entertainment featuring comedy, song, and specialty acts, popular in Britain from the mid-1800s through the early 20th century.
The term also refers to the theaters where such entertainment was staged: The old music hall had been converted to a cinema.
In American usage, the equivalent tradition was vaudeville.
