P-51

World War warbird

The P-51 Mustang was an American single-seat fighter aircraft that became one of the most effective combat planes of World War II.

Originally designed for the British Royal Air Force, it gained fame as a long-range escort fighter capable of accompanying bombers deep into enemy territory.

The P-51's combination of speed, range, and maneuverability made it a decisive factor in achieving Allied air superiority over Europe.

The P-51s provided escort for the bombing raids over Germany.
